International Trading Form
To be able to buy and sell international stocks and shares your account must be a nominee account and you must complete a W-8BEN form. This is due to a United States Government rule concerning withholding tax. Under these rules we need to ensure that the correct amount of US withholding tax is deducted. This documentation, known as form W-8BEN by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), will detail your particular tax status and residence and will need to be updated every three years
